Goddess Durga is one of the principal deities in Hinduism. She is a warrior form of Goddess Parvati ,created to destroy the demon Mahishasura, Goddess Durga is worshipped as the Goddess of strength and protection. Goddess Durga has nine forms, Shailaputri, Brahmacharini , Chandraghanta, Kushmanda and Skandamata, Katyayani , Kaalratri, Maha Gauri and Siddhidatri collectively known as Nava Durga, and are worshipped during the nine days of the Navaratri festival. She is associated with protection, strength, motherhood, destruction, and wars.
