Weather observation is one scientific interaction we all have with nature on a daily basis. We wake up, we look out of the window, and we decide what to wear that day. Or we head outside and check the sky to see whether we should bring an umbrella along. Children learn to do it too.
The weather wheel will help children to make their daily observations .What's the weather like outside today? My weather wheel helps to mark the weather and is a great addition to your preschool kindergarten, Montessori or home schooling class. It is a fun and interactive way to teach the weather. Young children love to change the weather on a daily basis.
The diameter of the circle is 19.5 centimeters (7.68 inches).
The weather wheel rotates to the desired mark.
How to use the Weather Wheel :
Attach the weather wheel onto the fridge or by a window where you can observe the sky well. Make it a part of the child’s routine to come and adjust the wheel to the right weather. Use a simple spreadsheet to record the observations. At the end of the month, using some simple math, calculate how many days of the month were sunny and how many days had rain or snow, then decide what the general trend was.
